Also agree that the factory packaging is sub-par. My unit arrived with the cabinet very slightly skewed ( you have to look pretty hard to notice it), and needed to use the leveling feet to sit it straight. Nevertheless, a fine little unit which looks great on the countertop, holds the set-point temperature perfectly, and makes absolutely no noise whatsoever.

When the package arrived the door was not attached. I fixed it without too much effort. Since then the door has come off once under normal use. Other than a those two issues with the door I'm very happy with this wine fridge.

I bought this from Home Depot for my mom as a Christmas present last year. It has just stopped working (the display and light still work but it simply will not get cold). So here I am thinking that I am still within a 1 year warranty. Well I went to the manual and of course the warranty was something like 60 or 90 days. That's unbelievable for a $150 product. An attempt to contact Vinotemp through their website went unanswered. Just buy this product at your own risk and see if you can maybe purchase an extended warranty through a provider like SquareTrade or something.

I had one of the older versions of this cooler for about 18 months, after which the internal circuitry went dead bug and it would not cool below 65 degrees F, ran constantly and noisily. I checked with a repair facility and they could not do anything with it. Bought a new one, the same as advertised here, about 6 months ago through Amazon for about 60 bucks and it has done quite well. Took about four hours to drop the temp to 55 degrees F with 8 bottles of wine in it, and the temp has stayed there since.

I bought this cooler in January 2008 at Target for $50 on sale. It cooled scores of bottles of wine in its 2.5 years of life before it stopped cooling last week.
I don't think $20 per year is too much to pay to keep my wine cool. For those of you that it only lasted 1 year or so, that is the risk you run for purchasing the cheapest thing you can find. Accept it for what it is and suck it up. It you want top quality and many years of service, spend the money to get that level of quality.

Very frustrated with this cooler. After only 6 months of use the cooler drips so much water inside the unit that it pours out onto the counter. Target won't return it, the company won't fix it. What a waste.
