The National Kitchen & Bath Association recently released its 2010 trend survey detailing what is expected to be in demand for kitchens this coming year. The National Kitchen & Bath Association develops the survey by asking its designer members about the trends, styles and in demand features that they currently see, and anticipate, being placed into kitchens during the year.
In addition to recommending off white colors, stone and tile floors and old standbys like granite countertops, stainless steel faucets and darker cherry and maple wood finishes, over 50% of the designers also said built in wine coolers, or under countertop wine coolers, were in demand.
Built in wine coolers are designed to sit evenly with the rest of your kitchen cabinets and countertops. Built in wine refrigerator units with compressor based cooling systems require front venting so that the sides and back of the appliance can be seamlessly enclosed in the surrounding cabinetry, yet still allow proper air flow out of the unit. Built in wine coolers are typically placed in the kitchen to uniformly merge with and complement other appliances and the rest of the kitchen . Placing a built in wine refrigerator in the kitchen helps centralize the kitchen as a focal area in the house and adds value to the kitchen.
Considering a new home? Remodeling an existing kitchen? Tailor your additions to what you like, and what is in demand, to help boost your home’s resale value. Add a built in wine cooler to your kitchen and you will enjoy the aesthetics and wine!
